Message from Public Health Dorset

The recent increase in cases is a reminder of why it’s so important that we must keep going with all the measures we have in place to prevent COVID-19 from spreading in our schools and the wider community. These measures have been successful so far – it is inevitable that increased cases in the community will result in more cases in schools, but the processes we have been following prevent larger outbreaks and disruption to school provision. It’s really important that we keep these up throughout the last few weeks of term.

It can be difficult to differentiate between symptoms of COVID-19 and other common infections or conditions like hay fever. If symptoms develop into one of the three main symptoms of COVID-19, the person should self-isolate and get PCR tested.

Thank you.

Coronavirus – How to get tested

You MUST stay at home and get a PCR test (NOT a Lateral Flow test) if you or your child have any of the main signs of coronavirus:

♦ High temperature

♦ or a new or continuous cough

♦ or a loss of smell or taste

If you or anyone in you live with has any of these symptoms, then you must stay at home and isolate for 10 days or until you have a negative result from a PCR test (results are usually within 24 hours).

Get a PCR test online www.gov.uk or call 119

The school would like to thank you for your continued support and respect of the school staff whilst following the current Government guidance at this time.
