Last week British triple jumper Julian Golley came to one of our worships to talk about fundraising through sponsored sports activities organised by Super Schools. He demonstrated, with children from various year groups, some of the activities we could be doing. These included moves called star jumps, press ups, mountain climbing and spotty dogs.
This week Julian returned to our school with cyclist Grant Fielder (who has represented Great Britain in mountain biking) to do the sports activities with each year group and sign some autographs. Sports Captains helped out by showing everyone what to do and cheering them on.
In the afternoon, Grant Fielder demonstrated to the whole school some BMX tricks with his bike and a cycle ramp. After each move, he moved the ramp further apart so that his tricks became more intense. To finish with a grand finale, he performed a huge backflip, somersaulting his bike off the ramp! Some parents who arrived to collect their children were watching on their way down the path. When Grant had finished his tricks, he high-fived as many of the children as possible!
All the children had great fun and their sponsorship money will be handed in and counted, so watch this blog for the results! The money raised will go towards PE equipment for our school.

We had a photograph taken with Olympian cyclist Grant Fielder and Julian Golley who is an Olympian triple jumper. They gave us some activities to do including press-ups, star jumps, leg drives and spotty dogs – which are a bit like mountain climbing moves. These exercises lasted about a minute each and were quite tiring! We enjoyed meeting them.

Thanks to Mrs Cousins and Mrs Allan for the great photographs of Grant Fielder!
