The beautiful school garden was shared with the local community in July as part of the National Garden Scheme Open Weekend. It was a lovely weekend and the weather was kind to us. The garden had been decorated by the children with art work at the end of term and this was very much appreciated by the visitors who made lots of lovely comments.
The Garden Open event made £417.00 for the National Garden Scheme (NGS). The NGS are the largest charity fundraising organisation in the country and gives away approximately £2.5 million every year. http://www.ngs.org.uk/what-we-do/how-much-we-give.aspx
This year the refreshments were served in Highclere House, by our garden volunteers. It is a lovely venue and Holy Trinity School is very grateful for their support.
The money that was taken for the refreshments and plant sales was £390.15 and this will go into the Garden Fund to continue the development of the Jurassic Garden for the children.
